Human Resource Machine is a puzzle game, more specifically an attempt to gamify learning assembly-esque/low-level programming via getting inputs/outputs, defining variables, jumps, basic arithmetic etc. etc. all through a click-and-drag menu with visual feedback. As someone who does programming for their day job (although not anywhere this low-level) and enjoys puzzle-solving, I felt compelled to like this concept since it should appeal to me directly - but I just don’t. A combination of feeling “too close to home” (a lack of abstraction/“I do enough work at work”) and not feeling like its the best vehicle for learning this type of assembly programming (although more preference, the drag-and-drop interface is far too clunky personally, while the visual programming style just flatly doesn’t work with how my brain thinks) - the sum result being personally confused about who this is supposed to appeal to.
